Autogenous healing of hollow natural fiber (HNF)-reinforced reactive magnesium cement (RMC)

چکیده

This work investigated the autogenous healing of interface bond between hollow natural fiber (HNF) (e.g., sisal fiber) and reactive magnesium cement (RMC). Preloading -reloading test was conducted to single embedded specimens, results suggested that can be improved by over 300% after wetting-air cycles conditioning, hot water conditioning demonstrated greater efficiency compared room temperature conditioning. Based on SEM-EDS characterization, this prominent restoration is due to: 1) further hydration carbonation RMC, which partially fills microcracks matrix; 2) migration precipitation expansive agents in lumens, improves contact matrix. Furthermore, resulted a significant recovery fiber-bridging strength fiber-reinforced doubled with preloading.

Mechanical Characterization of High-Performance Steel-Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites with Self-Healing Effect

The crack self-healing behavior of high-performance steel-fiber reinforced cement composites (HPSFRCs) was investigated. High-strength deformed steel fibers were employed in a high strength mortar with very fine silica sand to decreasing the crack width by generating higher interfacial bond strength. The width of micro-cracks, strongly affected by the type of fiber and sand, clearly produced th...

Structure and Properties of a Natural Celulosic Hollow Fiber

The interaction of thermal radiation with conduction and laminar natural convection in a vertical circular pin, situated at participating gas, is numerically investigated. An absorbing and emitting gas is considered, and treated to be a gray participating media. Under the idealizing of gray gas, the Rosselan4 approximation is employed to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. ...

Strengthening of Fiber-reinforced Self-healing Ceramics

ID No: FC-169 ABSTRACT The continuous fiber reinforced self-healing ceramic composites (shFRC) were proposed as one of the candidate materials for turbine blade [1]. The shFRC consists of three components, which are oxide fiber bundle, oxide matrix and self-healing agent interlayer. As the self-healing is generated at only the interlayer, it is necessary that crack propagation is led into the i...

Evaluation of Fiber Reinforced Cement Using Digital Image Correlation

The effect of short fiber reinforcements on the mechanical properties of cement has been examined using a splitting tensile - digital image correlation (DIC) measurement method. Three short fiber reinforcement materials have been used in this study: fiberglass, nylon, and polypropylene. The method outlined provides a simple experimental setup that can be used to evaluate the ultimate tensile st...

Flow of Fiber-Reinforced Cement Slurries at Elevated Temperatures

Cement slurries are used for the construction of oil wells as deep as 30,000 ft (9,000 m). The severe performance requirements for such materials have prompted the search for appropriate fiber reinforcement to improve the slurry’s tensile strength, impact resistance, and fracture toughness, without decreasing its pumpability. A continuum theory for dilute suspensions of large-aspect-ratio parti...
